Art Teacher

Ms. Susan is an artist and educator with extensive experience teaching art in school, museum, community, and hospital settings. Ms. Susan’s teaching style is a blend of demonstrating art techniques and guiding students to develop their art skills, while encouraging personal themes and self-expression. After graduating from Massachusetts College of Art with a BA in Painting and Art Education, she has pursued both her passion for painting and a love of teaching for over 30 years. Ms. Susan taught art at Schechter Boston, a private school for elementary and middle school students, for over two decades. Additionally, she taught painting and drawing classes to adults, teens, and children at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. After earning a certificate in Arts and Medicine at the University of Florida at Shands Hospital, Ms. Susan facilitated healing art painting sessions at Boston Children’s Hospital, called Relaxation Sundays.  As a professional artist, Ms. Susan is primarily a plein air painter who uses oil, acrylic, and watercolor to paint the landscape on the South Shore and Cape Cod. She recently exhibited her work in a solo show, A Love of Nature Through Paint, at the Dolphin Gallery in Hingham, MA. Ms. Susan’s artwork was featured in South Shore Living Magazine, her teaching work in the Boston Globe, Newton Tab, and Jewish Advocate.
